Part One – Trauma in Children with Dr. Richard Zayed

Dr. Richard Zayed is a psychologist and director of Zayed Psychological Services. He has been practicing in the field for over 20 years in various professional settings, including private practice since 2007. Treatment and assessments are his main focus in working directly with patients.
His comprehensive training and clinical expertise allow him to offer a wide range of psychological services to address many different issues and concerns. He works across the lifespan with children, adolescents, and adults, offering assessment and treatment to individuals, couples, families, and parents. He also offers professional supervision and consultation and conducts education and training for organizations and agencies. He remains actively involved in research and is affiliated with the Child and Parent Resource Institute and the University of Western Ontario.
This two-part seminar will provide an overview of the fundamentals of trauma, reviewing trauma symptomatology seen with a more straightforward post-traumatic stress response. It will also provide a brief overview of complex developmental trauma, as well as the role of intergenerational trauma, attachment disruptions, and disruptions to neurodevelopment which are at the core complex developmental trauma.
